Stirring and Destratification Fans
Casaccio Egg Farm - Terang, Victoria
Layer Farm, Stirring Fans Geoff O’Brian "The ebm-papst stirring fans were installed in our free range layer shed in 2014. The electricians who installed them were surprised and impressed with the very low power usage. Since then the fans have operated trouble free with the environment controller running fast and slow as needed producing very good growing conditions. No maintenance has been required. We are very happy with these fans." |

Broiler Farm, De-stratification Fan Bobby Stankovic “The ebm-papst de-stratification fans are ideal especially in the brooding phase. These fans bring the warm air from the roof down to the birds without scaring them away. You can’t feel the airflow, but they create a constant floor temperature keeping particularly the litter warm. The birds spread out evenly across the shed. We just leave them (de-stratification fans) on constantly for the first few weeks. They are so simple to install plus we reduced our gas consumption. We also don’t need as much time anymore to pre-heat our sheds before placement of new birds reducing our turnaround time and reducing the gas needed to heat up the entire shed” |

Broiler Farm, 8 sheds of De-stratification Fan Con Kyriazis “When we first installed those ebm-papst de-stratification fans we didn’t think these small fans would make any difference, but we soon found out the opposite. Very quickly the birds spread out evenly across the shed. When we measured the litter temperature we found it to be constant at 32°C. We used to have over 40° under the roof, now we have even 32°C from top to bottom. These fans definitely make a big difference especially in the brooding phase. The installation is so easy and quick to retrofit and being able to adjust the speed was ideal to find the correct air flow for our shed height. Interestingly we have found we require one day less time for pre-heating the shed for new bird placements.” |
